Our tutoring and counseling activities are both held in groups, in one-on-one sessions, and by peers (youth members with youth members). More and more, the past few years, we have seen the strong positive impact peer counseling and peer tutoring sessions can have, both with and without immediate staff presence.
Included in our tutoring sessions are SAT/ACT lessons for our High School student/athletes, in which we also provide the necessary study material/books. Our counseling sessions are the one activity we hold as strictly confidential.
We are also striving to continue building up our Community Outreach Program, with which to more strongly impact our Kids in their home & school environments. We're thus better (and quicker) able to reach our Kids with a positive & realistic message, especially when negative events are going on around them. |
